Irina Petrovskaya is a television critic. Over the years she has worked at the magazines Zhurnalist and Ogonyok, the newspapers Nezavisimaya and Obshchaya, for Izvestiya, and was editor-in-chief of the weekly Sem Dnei. She is currently a columnist for the Novaya Gazeta newspaper and radio host at Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow). She is a member of the Russian Academy of Television and the Nika Academy of Cinema Arts. Petrovskaya also belongs to the Russian Union of Journalists and the Moscow branch of the Union of Writers. She received the “Golden Pen of Russia” award from the Union of Journalists, and an award from the president of Russia “For the highest achievements in the field of print journalism” (1999), as well as an award for print journalism from the government of Russia (2012).
